I really said it all in the topic!

http://www.1-800-save-a-pet.com cat adoption

I had an earlier post about cat adoption and Rose mentioned it'd be a
good idea to make a post about this adoption site as well. And I
agree! It definitly feels like part of the holiday spirit you know.
I know we can't all take on another cat but if you know someone who is
looking for a cat or if you do have enough space for an extra kitty in
your life - definitly check out this website!

Not all pets are as well loved and well treated as ours. There are many abandoned, stray and feral cats out there who need our help. All year long, there are unpaid volunteers like me in every city and every town, who love animals. We go to our local shelters to feed, medicate, clean cages, do laundry, mop floors, handle adoptions, and play with the cats. Each rescue group or shelter holds fund raisers throughout the year to gather together enough money to provide the homeless shelter animals with what they need. (food, shelter, medical treatment, and help in finding a loving new home)There is never enough funding to help as many as we'd like to, as most towns don't have budgets large enough to cover the much needed care of the animals. For this reason I am asking everyone who loves animals, to please consider doing one of these things this holiday season!
1) find out where your local animal shelter or rescue group is! Go there and ask the volunteers what they need! Set aside one hour a week to donate your time or talent help them care for the animals.
2) drop off a donation of: blankets, towels, paper towels, trashbags, laundry soap, sponges, cat food or dog food, litter, catnip, or treats. Monetary donations are always welcome as well and are usually tax deductable for non-profit groups.
3) adopt an animal, or open up your home to foster an animal who is waiting for adoption.
Most shelters only have so many cages available and once they are all full, they have to turn stray animals away. If there are foster homes available, they can help take in the overflow.
There are many ways to help your local shelter. Please consider donating your time, money or talents to help homeless animals this year! It will make a homeless animal feel great, and make you feel even better knowing you made a difference! Thanks and Happy Holidays! Rose
